Background:

The idea for the book, “Time Out Tai Chi – Welcoming Jing” came about when the author Leanne  started sharing Tai Chi with children by taking animal drawings and telling a story about them to help keep the youngsters engaged.  She collaborated with her daughter and Illustrator Bonnie to make this engaging book to help teachers and childcare workers share this wonderful introduction to Tai Chi.

About the Illustrator: Bonnie Hazel Simpson is an award winning, emergent artist. She has won many awards in Mackay Student Festival of Fashion and last year was voted the winner of the People's Choice Award for Artstreet, as part of the Festival of Arts.  Bonnie Hazel has been commissioned by groups to create posters for events, logos and branding, window displays and wearable art gowns. Bonnie Hazel has also received a Starburst Regional Mentorship with Crossroad Arts. She is a Registered Nurse specialising in Community Health & a mum.
